Smartphones are everywhere, and many people –whether they work as at-home caregivers or not – use applications loaded directly onto their smartphones to keep themselves organized. At EvergreenChoice, we like to help caregivers to keep their work running smoothly. Here are several smartphone applications that can keep at-home caregivers on track as they handle medication requirements, financial information, medical appointments and dietary needs.
This application costs $5 and is available for iPhone. Caregiver’s Touch allows at-home caregivers to keep a medical history log, calendar to accommodate multiple clients and features security options to ensure that information is protected. This application must be used with its web-based application, which requires a monthly subscription fee of $19.95, or $199.95 a year.
This free smartphone app works with iPhones and Androids. Similar to Caregiver’s Touch, this application allows medication tracking. Caregivers can use a task list or journal, both of which are shareable, to track their patients’ activities and things that need to be done.
There are also a variety of applications that track calendars, meals, grocery lists or financial situations – that at-home caregivers can use if they only need simple tracking.
Compatible with iPhone, Android and Blackberry, this lets you take notes, create voice reminders and take photographs. It is completely searchable and free.
This application works with iPhone, Android and Blackberry, like Evernote. You can track your clients’ spending and create digital copies of receipts with this application. You can track your mileage and sync with multiple credit card and banking accounts.
To track meals each week, you can use Meal Planner. The application sells for $2.99 and works with iPhone. You can save your favorite recipes and create shopping lists to keep your clients’ cabinets stocked. You can plan meals with this application, which also includes the option to save prices to allow you to comparison shop at different stores.
